Veritas Poly Gauge  (Ref: 610132)

Veritas Poly Gauge

This ingenious device from Veritas can be used for the quick and accurate setting of saw blades, mitre fences and planer fences to any one of five pre-determined angles. These angles are 45°, 54°, 60°, 67.5° and 75° and are those used to produce frames and other structures with either 4, 5, 6, 8 or 12 sides. The gauge can be used horizontally, typically to set a mitre fence, or vertically as shown for setting planers, table saws, bandsaws and the like; in the vertical position the central knob is removed and used as a stabilising base, leaving both hands free for adjusting the machine. Construction and accuracy are to the Veritas usual high standards and there are copious instructions for use included. The overall size of the gauge is 215 x 150mm.

Veritas Metric Tapered Gauge  (Ref: 475418)

Veritas Metric Tapered Gauge

Useful for setting fences, router bits and drill press stops
Guaranteed to have no greater error than 0.125mm
Fine tip 0.8mm and measures up to 28mm thickness
Metric in 0.2mm graduations
Fractional in 1/64" graduations
Decimal in 0.010" graduations
Accuracy achieved by effectively stretching the standard scale by a factor of seven

A tapered gauge gets its accuracy by effectively stretching any scale for accurate reading. These stretch the standard scale by a factor of seven. When a thickness difference of 3mm is stretched over 22mm of the scale, small differences in thickness can easily be measured with fine accuracy. The aluminum gauge can be used many ways: for setting fences, router bits and drill-press stops, as well as making any gap easy to measure and, therefore, easy to fill, if you happen to be repairing work. Each one is hard anodized, a process that makes the surface as hard to scratch as tool steel, yet leaves it easy to write on with a pencil. In most uses accurate to ±0.05mm, they are guaranteed to have no greater error than 0.125mm in any measurement. Simple, effective tools in the scale of your choice - fractional in 1/64" graduations, decimal in 0.010" graduations, and metric in 0.2mm graduations. All have fine tips (0.8mm thick) and measure up to 28mm (or equivalent) thickness. Each comes supplied in a case.

Veritas Square Fence  (Ref: 475961)

Veritas Square Fence

200mm long anodized aluminium extrusion easily attaches with brass screws
Square fence face aligns with the edge of the work, the weight of the square rests material
One side offers a 25mm high face, the opposite side has a 6mm face for very thin work
Purposeful shape acts as a versatile fence and gives your framing square a handle

A carpenter's square is frequently needed just because of its size. The key disadvantage of such a square (its lack of a supporting fence ledge) can now be eliminated using a Veritas square fence. The 200mm long anodized aluminum extrusion can be readily attached to either the stock or blade of your square (depending upon intended use) with the two integral brass screws. The face of the square fence aligns with the edge of the workpiece while the weight of the framing square rests on the material. One side offers a 25mm high face. Flipping it over, the opposite side has a 6mm face, letting you use it on workpieces this thin without having to slide them to the edge of your workbench. Its purposeful shape not only acts as a versatile fence, but also gives your framing square a handle, hugely increasing its utility. Ideal for use on round-edge material and sheet stock. Veritas Set-Up Blocks  (Ref: 475043)

Veritas Set-Up Blocks

Includes five 2" anodised aluminium blocks
1/16", 1/8", 1/4", 1/2" & 3/4" thick
Includes 1-2-3 block (1", 2" and 3"size)
All accurate to within 0.002"

Veritas Direct Reading Caliper  (Ref: 475009)

Veritas Direct Reading Caliper

Scale situated on back end and reading vertically
Anodized aluminium arms
Lightweight
Graduated in 32nds, 0" to 4"
Made in Canada

Most turner's calipers suffer from a common weakness; they must be read from the side, forcing you to cock your head every time you need to take a reading. Our direct-reading caliper is so named because the scale is situated where it should be, on the back end and reading vertically. The anodized aluminum arms make this caliper lightweight; yet rigid enough to withstand most regular turning demands. The graduated aluminum scale is etched, providing a good contrast with the anodized surface. Graduated in 32nds, 0 to 4", with a throat capacity to cover the same range.A torsion spring provides light but constant closing force, and a brass thumbscrew allows you to set the caliper at any opening for comparative measurements. With the finger-shaped cut-outs, it is as comfortable as it is effective.

Veritas Dividing Rule  (Ref: 610135)

Veritas Dividing Rule

A unique tool and one that solves the age-old problem of accurately dividing a workpiece or board into equal divisions. The rule is placed on the board and skewed until the pins contact the edges; a pencil or scriber is placed in the appropriate division hole (from 2 to 10 divisions are possible) and a line drawn down the board. Board widths of up to 200mm (8") can be accommodated.

A second scale, with holes positioned every 1/16", allows the rule to be used as a gauge for marking lines parallel to the edge of the board.

The use of swivelling pins allows marking around curved edges. Made from brass and stainless steel to the high standard we are used to seeing from Veritas.
