Veritas Standard Block Plane A2 blade  (Ref: 701892)

The standard block plane is preferred for general purpose work. The 20° bed angle plus the blade's 25° bevel angle results in an effective cutting angle of 45°. The low profile lever cap fits the hand well, at only 3.2mm(1/8") higher than its low angle sibling (weight 790g(1.3/4lb)). In all other respects, it is the same as the low-angle block plane. Includes a lapped A2 blade, 41mm(1.5/8") wide. Optional O1 tool steel blade is available. A toothed blade in A2 steel is available for working very difficult grains, such as knots.
